An Ultrasonic Clamp-On Flow Meter is a non-invasive device used to measure the flow rate of liquids inside pipes without the need to cut into or disrupt the pipeline. These meters use ultrasonic signals to determine the velocity of the fluid and calculate the flow rate.

Clamp-on flow meters typically operate using ultrasonic measurement principles:

  1. Transit-Time Method (For clean or slightly dirty liquids)

    • Two transducers are placed on opposite sides of the pipe.
    • Ultrasonic signals are transmitted in both directions.
    • The difference in travel time between upstream and downstream signals is used to calculate flow velocity.
